H2 Hydrogen Booster Compressor for Compress Hydrogen

Hydrogen booster, as well as hydrogen gas pump, can safely compress hydrogen to 80MPa maximum. It uses compressed air as its driving power, and does not require electricity, avoiding the risk of hydrogen being ignited by electric sparks, thus explosion proof. In addition, H2 booster adopts dry compression to avoid contamination of hydrogen by lubricating oil. And it comes with exhaust cooling module, which uses the exhaust air to achieve self-cooling and cooling hydrogen during compression process. Moreover, H2 booster has the automatic start-stop function. That is, it will automatically stop and stand by when reaching your preset pressure, thus preventing overpressure.

How to Operate Hydrogen Boosters

Hydrogen gas booster is powered by compressed air and its discharge pressure is always proportional to the driving air pressure. Therefore, if adjust the air supply pressure, H2 booster outlet pressure will change accordingly. Just need to add an air regulator and a pressure gauge, you can easily set or adjust H2 booster discharge pressure by observing the pressure gauge while rotating the air regulator. In order to meet your dual demands on pressure and flow, we supply five series and multiple models of hydrogen booster pumps for you to choose from.

Hydrogen Booster Features

  • Explosion proof and safely compress hydrogen up to 80MPa
  • Oil-free dry compression ensures hydrogen purity
  • Exhaust air cooling system achieves self-cooling
  • Automatic start-stop at any preset pressure avoids overpressure
  • Support start with load and frequent start-stop

H2 Booster Applications

  1. Transfer and fill hydrogen from a source tank to gas cylinder.
  2. Recover low-pressure hydrogen from gas tanks or pipelines.
  3. Deliver hydrogen to hydrogenation reactors.
  4. Act as an electrolysis hydrogen compressor to boost hydrogen.
  5. Serve as a hydrogen fuel pump or hydrogen refueling station to refuel for fuel-cell vehicles, hydrogen drones or hydrogen forklifts.

Hydrogen Booster Compressor

H2 booster compressor is a small high pressure hydrogen compressor with maximum discharge pressure 80MPa. It adopts a modular design, we integrate serval hydrogen booster pumps and control kit into a robust skid, which make it easy to operate and move. You can decide whether to start one or all hydrogen booster pumps depending on the current working conditions. And it has automatic start-stop function, that is, you only need to set a discharge pressure, hydrogen compressor will automatically compress hydrogen and output high-pressure hydrogen flow. Therefore, H2 booster compressor is a low-cost and small hydrogen compressor suitable to serve as a portable hydrogen fueling station.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between H2 booster and H2 compressor?

Hydrogen gas booster is a low-cost and small hydrogen compressor that can meet the needs of small-scale and medium-scale hydrogen compression. The large hydrogen compressor is more used for large-scale industrial hydrogen compression.

If your hydrogen initial pressure is very low, but you want to get a higher pressure, our GBT series H2 booster is your ideal choice. And if the gauge pressure of your gas is zero, please select our models GBS01, GBS02 or GBS05, all of which have strong self-priming ability. Please contact us for more details.

H2 booster is equipped with the exhaust cooling module, which utilizes the exhaust air to achieve self-cooling and cool high-pressure hydrogen without consuming additional energy. If you need to further quickly cool high-pressure hydrogen, it is recommended to install a gas cooler.

Yes, our H2 booster uses oil-free compression, that is, dry compression, to ensure hydrogen cleanliness and purity.
