Co2 nitrogen oxygen gas cylinder hydro test machine is an automatic water jacket method gas cylinder expansion test system. Normally, all high-pressure gas cylinders require periodic hydro test to ensure their safe daily use. The gas cylinder hydrostatic test machine uses the water jacket method to perform gas cylinder volumetric expansion deformation test. It can detect a gas cylinder deformation rate, thus determining whether the gas cylinder is qualified and can continue to serve. The water jacket method gas cylinder test machine is applicable to diverse seamless gas cylinders such as Oxygen cylinders, Nitrogen cylinders, Co2 cylinders, CNG cylinders, breathing tanks, Hydrogen cylinders, fire extinguishers.
The water jacket method gas cylinder hydrostatic test system consists of a power console and two water jackets. First, fill water into your cylinder and place it in the water-jacket. Then pressurize the gas cylinder to above its working pressure and then maintain the pressure. During pressure holding period, the cylinder will expand due to internal pressure, thus squeezing some water in the water jacket to a measuring cup. After pressure relief, the gas cylinder will restore partially, so some water in the measuring cup will return to the water jacket. The remaining water in the measuring cup is the residual volumetric deformation of the gas cylinder. The computer will calculate the cylinder deformation rate automatically, thereby determining whether the gas cylinder is qualified. Normally, if a cylinder deformation rate exceeds 10%, the gas cylinder is unqualified and cannot serve.
The water jacket method gas cylinder test machine is designed for high-pressure gas cylinder, namely seamless gas cylinders. And it aims to detect a gas cylinder’s deformation rate. To assess the material strength and structural integrity of a gas cylinder, you need to use this gas cylinder hydraulic test machine. It can perform gas cylinder hydraulic test to verify the gas cylinder qualification. And it also can perform gas cylinder burst test to detect the ultimate pressure that the cylinder can withstand. This gas cylinder hydraulic burst test machine is more widely used for low-pressure gas cylinders, namely welded gas cylinders, such as LPG tanks, Butane tanks, FM200 cylinder and refrigerant tanks.
Gas cylinder expansion test, as known as water jacket method gas cylinder hydrostatic test, is one of the three methods of gas cylinder hydro test. It is also the most advanced and accurate gas cylinder hydro test method. And it is specifically designed for seamless gas cylinders, namely high pressure gas cylinders.
It depends on the regulations in your country. Generally speaking, oxygen cylinder hydro test interval is 1 year. LPG tank hydro test interval is 3 years. The hydro test interval for nitrogen cylinders, hydrogen cylinders, Co2 cylinders and acetylene cylinders is 5 years.
Water jacket method gas cylinder test is a non-destructive test, so it will not damage your gas cylinder. If the gas cylinder passes the hydro test, it can continue to serve.
Water jacket method gas cylinder hydro test machine is able to automatically determine whether a gas cylinder is qualified by detecting the cylinder deformation rate. Normally, if a gas cylinder deformation rate exceeds 10%, the machine will deem the gas cylinder unqualified. For breathing tanks such as Scuba and SCBA, if the deformation rate exceeds 5%, the machine will deem the breathing tank unqualified.
The gas cylinder hydrostatic test, that is, gas cylinder volumetric expansion deformation test is for old gas cylinders that have been used for a period of time. Normally, there is no need to perform hydrostatic test on new gas cylinders.
