SCBA Scuba Dive Tank Hydrostatic Test Machine

SCBA Scuba dive tank hydrostatic test machine is an automatic water jacket method breathing tank expansion test system. As well known, SCBA tanks and Scuba dive tanks are collectively referred to as breathing tanks, which require periodic inspection to ensure their safe daily use. The breathing tank hydrostatic test machine uses the advanced water jacket method to perform the volumetric expansion deformation test on Scuba dive tanks and SCBA tanks. It can detect a breathing tank’s deformation rate, thus determining whether the breathing tank is qualified and can continue to serve. The water jacket method hydrostatic test machine is also applicable to diverse seamless gas cylinders smaller than 15 Liters, such as portable Co2 extinguishers and aviation oxygen tanks.

SCBA Scuba Dive Tank Hydrostatic Test Procedures

Scuba diving tank hydrostatic test machine consists of a power console and a water jacket. Firstly fill water in your Scuba diving tank and place it in the water jacket. Then pressurize the dive tank to above its working pressure and maintain the pressure. During pressure holding period, Scuba diving tank expands due to internal pressure, thus squeezing some water in the water jacket to the measuring cup. After pressure relief, Scuba diving tank restores partially, so some water in the measuring cup will return to the water jacket. The remaining water in the measuring cup is the residual volumetric deformation of the Scuba dive tank. The machine will calculate the diving tank deformation rate, thus determining whether it is qualified. Normally, if a SCBA tank or Scuba diving tank deformation rate exceeds 5%, it is unqualified and must be scrapped.

A small tank dryer machine for Scuba diving tank and SCBA

SCBA Scuba Dive Tank Dryer

This is the breathing tank dryer designed to dry the inside of SCBA tanks, Scuba dive tanks and small gas cylinders less than 15 liters. The machine uses electric heating, and the temperature can be set and adjusted. The fan built into the machine will continuously deliver hot air to the inside of breathing tank, so as to dry the moisture on the inner wall of the breathing tank. This machine is equipped with six stations and can dry six breathing tanks at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Scuba diving tank expansion test? How does it differ from the Scuba diving tank hydrostatic test?

Scuba diving tank expansion test, also known as the water jacket method Scuba diving tank hydrostatic test, is one of the three methods of Scuba diving tank hydro test.

It depends on the regulations in your country. Generally speaking, SCBA and Scuba tank hydrostatic test interval is 3 years, or the cumulative filling times reaches 2000, whichever comes first.

The water jacket method breathing tank hydrostatic test is a non-destructive test, so it won’t damage your SCBA Scuba tanks.

Scuba diving tank hydrostatic test machine can automatically determine whether a Scuba diving tank is qualified by detecting its deformation rate. Normally, if a Scuba diving tank deformation rate exceeds 5%, the machine will deem the diving tank unqualified.

SCBA Scuba water jacket test is for old tanks that have been used for a period of time. Normally, there is no need to perform hydrostatic test on new tanks.
