Traditional commercial hydrogen refueling stations are built based on the diaphragm hydrogen compressor, which are very expensive and occupy a large area. So how can we build a small hydrogen refueling station at low cost?
What is Hydrogen Booster?
The hydrogen booster adopts the air-driven piston design, which uses the piston reciprocating motion to compress hydrogen to a higher pressure. Specifically, hydrogen booster uses compressed air to drive the large-area piston, and drives the small-area pistons to reciprocate through a shaft, thereby continuously compressing hydrogen to achieve boosting hydrogen. The hydrogen booster can safely compress hydrogen up to 160MPa, and it is also equipped with the self-cooling module to cool high-pressure hydrogen. That is, when it discharges the exhaust air, it uses the low-temperature exhaust air to take away the heat of high-pressure hydrogen. In addition, the hydrogen booster has the automatic start-stop function, that is, when it reaches your preset pressure, it automatically stops; when the terminal pressure drops, it automatically starts. In short, the hydrogen booster has the advantages of explosion-proof, simple structure and maintenance-free.

How to use Hydrogen Booster to Build a Hydrogen Fueling Station
Hydrogen refueling stations are usually divided into two levels according to the fueling pressure: 35MPa and 70MPa. First of all, you need to choose the right model of hydrogen booster according to your own needs. We provide multiple series and models of hydrogen boosters to meet your dual demands on pressure and flow. GBH series hydrogen booster is commonly used, which is a double-acting gas booster with two air pistons and can discharge larger and smoother gas flow. Below we use several cases to illustrate how we use hydrogen booster to build hydrogen fueling stations.

This is a simple 70MPa hydrogen refueling station. It intergrades a hydrogen booster with maximum outlet pressure 80MPa, air regulator, pressure gauges, manual control valves and high-pressure fittings into a robust skid, thus easy to move and operate. Just need to connect a H2 fueling nozzle, the portable hydrogen fueling station can refuel fuel-cell vehicles, hydrogen forklifts or hydrogen drones for you. In addition, it is also suitable to serve as a small hydrogen compressor or a manual hydrogen filling machine.

This is a dual-booster 35MPa hydrogen refueling station, which has two built-in hydrogen boosters with maximum outlet pressure 48MPa. The two hydrogen boosters work together to output double high-pressure hydrogen flow. The hydrogen fueling station is driven by compressed air and does not require electricity, so it is safe and explosion-proof. Just adjust the air regulator to set an outlet pressure, it will automatically complete compressing hydrogen and fueling hydrogen, and it will automatically stop when reaching your preset pressure, thereby preventing overpressure.

To meet our customer’s needs for rapid refueling hydrogen, we customized this triple-booster hydrogen filling station. It is equipped with three hydrogen boosters that can discharge high-pressure hydrogen up to 80MPa. We added hydrogen gas coolers, which uses exhaust air to further cool the high-pressure hydrogen. In addition, we also installed a pressure relief valve, which will open to release excess pressure in the event of overpressure, thereby ensuring the safety.
