Gas Booster Cooling System

The gas booster cooling system, also known as the gas booster exhaust air cooling module or the gas booster self-cooling system, is an active cooling method. Let me explore how it works. When a gas booster compresses gas, the boosted gas generates heat, which is an unavoidable physical phenomenon. Furthermore, the higher the gas booster boost ratio, the more heat is generated during the gas compression process. If this heat accumulates inside the gas booster for an extended period, it will cause the temperature of the booster itself and the gas inside to rise rapidly. Therefore, it is essential to cool the gas booster and the gas inside it.

Gas Booster Cooling Jacket

The gas booster self-cooling system uses low-temperature waste air to cool the gas booster itself and the gas inside it, requiring no additional energy consumption. And the system consists of two parts: a cooling jacket and an intercooler. The cooling jacket surrounds the high-pressure section of the gas booster. When the low-temperature exhaust air from the air drive section enters the cooling jacket, it will carry away the heat generated by the gas in the high pressure section, then discharge the heat to the atmosphere through the muffler.

Gas Booster Intercooler

For the double-acting gas booster and two-stage gas booster, in addition to two cooling jackets, an intercooler is also equipped. When the low-temperature exhaust air in the air drive section flows through the intercooler, it will absorb and take away the heat of the gas in the pipeline, and then discharge the heat into the atmosphere through the muffler.

Most models of our gas booster pumps come with the self-cooling system. If you need to further and rapidly reduce the temperature of the boosted gas, we recommend that you install a gas cooler at the outlet of your gas booster.
