What is the Scuba diving tank hydro test?
Scuba diving tank hydro test is also known as water jacket method Scuba diving tank volumetric expansion test. It is to place a water-filled Scuba tank in a sealed water jacket then pressurize the Scuba tank to above its working pressure and maintain the pressure for a while, finally unload the pressure. By measuring the amount of water overflows from the water jacket, we will calculate the volumetric expansion rate of the Scuba tank. If the Scuba diving tank volumetric expansion rate exceeds 5%, it is unqualified and must be scrapped.
What is the interval for SCBA Scuba diving tank hydro test?
It depends on the regulations in your country. Normally, SCBA Scuba diving tank hydrostatic test interval is 3 years, or the cumulative filling times reaches 2000, whichever comes first.
